The fundamentalists of all religions as well as the pope in the past few years are claiming religious superiority. Who is right? Is God of Hindus, Jews, Christians and Muslims, the same One God, or are there many versions of ˜One God" because God keeps changing and evolving to suit the needs of founders and followers of various religions? The book discusses that because of free will, while we may believe what ever we choose, but our beliefs and faith in God should be based upon reason, common sense and what is likely to be true and not upon unsubstantiated dogmas or unbelievable miracles. The first half of this book discusses the Attributes of God based on the Vedas. One would learn that there is only One God who is Omnipresent as the Universal Spirit but has no shape or form. God is eternal and never incarnates as a human being. What the reader will learn is very different than what is portrayed about Hindu beliefs in the lay press. The second half of the book compares and contrasts beliefs described in the Vedas with those described in the Bible and Quran as well as in later Hindu scriptures such as the Puranas upon which most of the current beliefs and practices of the Hindu religion are based.

About The Author

Professionally, I am Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at David Geffen school of Medicine, at University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA), Vice-Chair of Pediatrics and Division Head of Pediatric Nephrology both at Harbor/UCLA Medical Center, in Torrance, California. I came to the United States 42 years ago (in 1966) for further medical training and specialization. After completing my training in 1971, I decided to immigrate and teach in USA. My interest in Vedic Dharma (Religion) began when I was a young child. During my medical college years I spent part of my summer vacations at a Vedic Dharma monastery. I also had the good fortune of learning from several eminent Vedic Scholars about the core beliefs of Vedic Dharma as well as an introduction to the understanding of Veda mantras. I previously in year 2000, authored and published a book on the Vedas titled: The Essence of the Hindu Religion: with an Introduction to Vedas and Yoga, which describes the core beliefs of the Vedic Dharma and Patanjali's spiritual yoga. Over the past 17 years I have also read scriptures of other religions.
