Reviews
"Happiness in Five Minutes a Day", by author Vince Chiles, explores the definition of happiness and how many of us do not pursue happiness correctly and offers five concrete tips for achieving happiness. The tips, which are described in detail in the book: wake up surprised, take a break and re-energize, create something new, learn something new and be grateful at bed-time.
Chiles, a hospice supervisor, pulls on his own experiences with happiness, the experiences of others and the research and findings of other writers and scholars. The conclusions regarding happiness that Chiles reached are not groundbreaking, or even surprising. His findings, in fact, simply clarify what most of us already know, and his book provides tools for keeping ourselves in touch with happiness that's readily available.
