Memoirs of the Immortal is a novel that dares to reveal the mask that hides our darkest desires. It is a tale based on a revolutionary assembly of unique individuals in what is known as The Organization. By day that mask allows them to be prominent and prestigious corporate figures of the New York City business world. By night, however, when the mask is removed, they are a secret society of henchmen, extortionists, and murderers. Justice and Ezekiel Cane are true representations of the concept The Surface Is Just an Illusion.
Justice is on a search for absolution. He desperately seeks to rid himself of the demons that feed off his misery and sorrow. He sits in a realm of purgatory bound by the chains of agony and his failure to come to terms wit the past. He looks for redemption in the emotion of love, wanting to free himself of the anguish inside.
Ezekiel Cane does not hide from his unholy urges. He actually embraces the darkness as he embarks on a campaign of unadulterated violence. He employs his personal philosophies to justify his anti-social behaviors and activities.
Each day we walk among the criminally insane, rapists, and pedophiles, unable to see through the mask. It is only when the veil is lifted that we are truly allowed to view the horrors of reality. These are the Memoirs of the Immortals and the Surface is just an Illusion.
About The Author
Vincent Tate is 29 year old entrepreneur with ambitions in fashion, fiction, and non-fiction literature. He graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1995 with a desire to begin the saga titled Memoirs of the Immortal. During that time it was merely an idea but it would later become a reality as the years went on.
Mr. Tate would later be inspired to write in 1998 when he attended John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York. In 2000, he successfully received his Bachelor's Degree in Forensic Psychology. This gave Mr. Tate the opportunity to pursue a career in collaboration with law enforcement agencies.
Vincent used this time to expose himself to the operations of the criminal justice system. He accepted a position that gave him access to various correctional facilities. He used this time to learn the psychology of the criminal subculture and of those responsible for maintaining the facilities. His experiences contributed greatly to this book.
Vincent later directed his attention at being an Educator at Wings Academy High School located in the Bronx New York. He was granted a license from New York State that allowed him to teach Social Studies to grades 9 through 12. It was during this time that he learned about social, emotional, and political events that have greatly impacted the youth of New York City and America. He is quoted as saying being a teacher is the best experience of my life. I felt as if I were more of a big brother helping my students deal with social dilemmas that teenagers face on a daily basis. I felt as if they actually wanted to learn what I had to teach, and that made me love them.”
Vincent later began production on his clothing line, Vincent Noire, subtitled Evolution. He explained that this clothing line was created to change the way we think of fashion. He combines innovative styles with unorthodox fabrics to create original designs.
Mr. Tate later received inspiration from Valerie E. Hucks who encouraged him to complete his first novel after various publishing companies declined to produce his project. Memoirs of the Immortal is a trilogy. Vincent is currently working on his second novel titled Memoirs of the Immortal: The Divine Right Theory, set to be released in 2008.
