Reviews

HOW YOU CAN AVOID LEGAL LAND MINES: A Layman’s Guide to the Law, is astutely designed to attract readers who might otherwise shy away from cracking a law book (or dropping one on their toes, for that matter). This lean guide packs a wealth of info in a tidy package: Slip it in your organizer and digest bite-sized nuggets of prudence from brief chapters and crisply highlighted lessons (61 in all) whenever you have a spare moment. In a jiffy you’ll begin to assess your rights and responsibilities in legal issues with the essential too Lyles offers: clear communication. “In our system of justice,” he writes, “the goal is perfect justice, but perfection is rarely reached. Any system dependent on human judgment, like our legal system, is subject to errors.” With accessible resources like this fine primer, ignorance needn’t be one of those errors.
