Gina Caruso is her law firm's "rising star" due to her success in acquiring a big client and generating over $1 million dollars in revenue as an associate. But, Gina feels more like a one-hit-wonder than a success and is on the verge of resigning from the firm. Her perception that she has failed at client development is only fueled by her belief that firm management hired a client development coach to work with her and other young partners at the firm who are not performing.
Convinced by her husband Tony to hold off on tendering her resignation and give coaching a try, Gina meets with Jim Hardy, the coach hired by her firm . . . the same Jim Hardy that mentored Tony in Say Ciao to Chow Mein–Conquering Career Burnout. Gina learns to set goals and develop a business plan based on her professional and personal roles. By executing her plan, building her reputation, and building relationships, Gina achieves career success, while finding greater fulfillment in her personal and family life.

Reviews
Mr. Parvin is a natural, and his short and entertaining tale of Gina Caruso is no less than the best, most succinct and comprehensive guidance for lawyers interested in planning their futures in an increasingly competitive and demanding profession. For a lawyer's "must read" - and it should be required reading for every law firm associate - it is as refreshing as it is insightful.

This is no simple “how-to” rainmaking book filled with lists and instructions that you promise to read once you find the time. This is a book you will pick up and read cover to cover, and likely read again. Mr. Parvin has brought rainmaking and career development to life through this story of a young lawyer struggling to balance professional and personal life. There is helpful advice for all lawyers here, from setting specific goals to making a name for oneself. I highly recommend it.
