About The Author

Born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, Juliene Berk is a playwright and author who resides in New York City. She attended The Juilliard School and received a B S degree from Columbia University. She has taken extensive interviews from descendents of the early pioneers she writes about and recorded their stories. Research, travel back to Roumania and family archives have all contributed to the two books based on the actual lives and stories of extended family ands friends. An earlier book was published by St. Martins Press.
