Kate is confronted with the possibility that Dave was having an affair, and is determined to find out if this is true. Suspicion falls on Kate when the townspeople learn she inherited the large stone house where Hattie lived. Kate must work her way through these obstacles, as well as face her and Ian's growing attraction for each other.

Rhoda Maxwell writes in an engaging style and keeps readers guessing the murderer's identity right to the very end. She paints a vivid picture of life in a mid-size town, bringing alive the insatiable curiosity of the townspeople, their idle gossip, as well as their helping nature. Her characters are so real and typical, we can readily identify with them. Written in unpretenious prose, her debut novel should delight fans looking for new talent.
