Hidden Grace tells the story of Grace Albright, abused as a foster child during the Great Depression, who recovers from her depression in the course of a strange psychotherapy with a troubled therapist, Dr. Wilder. The tale is at once a detective story as the truth is sought, and a hero's quest as the two protagonists battle against forces set to destroy them. The story is told in three voices; the first person narrative of the uneducated Grace, the voice of her pedantic therapist, and in the eloquent voice of Grace's surprising personal journal. The story is in turns shocking, sentimental, challenging, and in the end inspiring.

Reviews

"An incredibly powerful Story, disturbing and uplifting. Dr Roper handles this mature topic with empathy, and reveals psychotherapy with rare insight." - Jackie Fitzpatrick, MSw, Women's Counselor "I wanted to know more and more about Grace, from the first page to the last. It was strange and wonderful to care so much about a character." Jan Zimmerman, Writer.

Tammy Weston from Auburn , ME
I hated to put the book down. Each time I'd finished a chapter, reading late at night, I'd assss the length of the next chapter. delighted to find it short, I set to read just one more before turning off the light. One often became two or three more!
Ell Fanus from Poland Spring , ME
A wonderful read! Grace is a fascinating character and I was so moved by her indomitable spirit.
