Almost 65 percent of Americans are overweight - that means close to 35 percent are not! What exactly do those who manage their weight do - that others do not? “How Thin People Think” reveals unique and informative insights on weight management from the point of view of “The Thinking Thin.” 401 points and 63 cartoons lay out a specific set of common sense behaviors from this group who “chooses” to be thin. (And they are not the lucky ones; the naturally thin.) Here we “Listen-In” on the decision-making processes many of the one-third of Americans who are not overweight use daily in order to enjoy a Lifetime of Thinness. Lively cartoons weave through chapters instructing readers on ‘Hunger,’ ‘Portion Control,’ ‘Snacks,’ ‘Dining Out,’ ‘Food at Home,’ and other elements of weight management. “The Thinking Thin never go on a diet, but they never go off one either.” Find out how this simple weight management ability is within anyone’s reach and why most readers ask, “Why didn’t someone tell us this before?” • Learn simple adjustments to everyday eating and lifestyle routines that are the ONLY true way to achieve a Lifetime of Thinness. • Obtain insights into the different ways “The Thinking Thin” perceive eating, verses those who struggle with food deprivation or resort to diet gimmicks. • The easy-to-read format of points and cartoons makes this an ideal guide for a mass American audience overweight and overwhelmed with “diet books.”

About The Author

Louise A. Masano has spent over twenty years creating commercials for major advertising agencies in New York. Among them are campaigns for Diet Coke, Revlon Cosmetics, Hyatt Hotels, Brut Fragrances, Springmaid Sheets, and Snuggle Fabric Softener, as well as for products to help alleviate wrinkles, congestion and PMS. Six of those years were devoted to creating domestic and international print and TV campaigns for one of the world’s most popular weight loss products. From that experience, and through focus groups, interviews and observations, came insights into the different ways many people who benefit from a lifetime of thinness think and act, from that of those who constantly struggle with food deprivation or resort to diet gimmicks. Additionally, through her own distress of gaining weight from “mindless munching” and then, subsequently losing that extra weight through “conscious consumption,” she came to realize that when the focus is on taking care of her body through food, weight management became empowering. Ms Masano received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Boston University. In addition to illustrating her book, she enjoys portrait painting and the piano. She lives and works in New York City.
