"The Comb in the Urinal" is sixteen short stories recounting scenarios about inanimate objects that I have come upon in my travels and what human circumstances occurred to leave them there. Yes, a comb in a urinal was one of these events, and its sighting prompted me to imagine how in the world it landed in such an unusual place. The other stories just naturally seem to

About The Author

I am a retired orthopedic surgeon who has just entered the world of writing and publishing. Indeed, I have written many medical publications, but my interest is now writing for the public. My first book, "Man's Unofficial Guide to the Use of His Garage", was published in February of 2004. My most recent publication is "The Comb in the Urinal and Other Perplexities of Life." Being retired has given me the time to smell the roses and slow down to a comfortable pace of life. I was totally captivated by an miniscule event one evening when I noticed a comb in a very unusual place and wondered how it possibly landed there. Subsequently, I have put together 16 short stories about various inanimate objects that one sees daily but pays minimal if any attention to. If, after reading the book, you are able to slow down and smell the roses as well, I will have succeeded in my purpose.

A good book for recreational reading.

I would also strongly suggest this book for college and high school creative writing classes.

Interesting book! I've always wondered about things like that. Now I know! After reading this book, I find myself making up stories whenever I see an object out of its natural element. The writer made you keep wanting to know more about the characters and made you anxious to read the next story. The title throws you off a bit but overall a very good read!
