The Horror

The Horror

by Matthew J. Levin

169 Pages, Paperback, 6 x 9

The Horror is a collection of 9 original tales of terror whose roots are deep in the golden age of The Twilight Zone, One Step Beyond, and EC Comics such as Tales from the Crypt and the Vault of Horror. Like that of Stephen King, Levin's work embodies a workman-like artistry for the masses. But it doesn’t stop there. From the young housewife who plays with madness in "Alone" to the haunting games played by a ghoulish body-snatcher in "Red Rabbit," these tales nod to the genre's roots with a wicked wit and cutting social commentary that can only be described as Joyce Carol Oates on crack.

About The Author

Matthew J. Levin has three tattoos and is single, but he shares a big house and lots of land with four savage dogs: Cooper, Eli, Milo and Lucy. Collectively, these savages are known as The Schnortzes and they are fierce. Matt is the legislative director for Michigan State Senator Gilda Z. Jacobs (D-Huntington Woods) and enjoys playing softball, tennis and basketball; working out; reading; watching films; major league baseball (Chicago White Sox) and the National Football League (Chicago Bears). His favorite artists include: Flannery O'Connor, Joyce Carol Oates, Gore Vidal, Clive Barker, Rod Serling, H.H. Munro, Roald Dahl, Bruce Springsteen, Tesla, Motley Crue, The Cure, Aerosmith, Fleetwood Mac, Lou Reed, Prince, Jani Lane, David Lee Roth, Edward Van Halen, Billy Wilder and Edvard Munch.
