In 2005 Sin City turned 100. Behind the glittering lights of the Strip is a fascinating history of power, money and celebrity. Local author and columnist Eve Quillin has lived under the neon lights of Vegas for over 30 years. She's witnessed the changes, from main streets still unpaved to every bit of land within the city either paved or built on. She's watched the hotel showrooms change from featuring a big name star and an opening act, to giant productions that completely fill the stage. In these 30 plus years she has seen the local population go from 350,000 to 1.6 million and still growing by thousands every month. These stories form the backbone of Quillin’s book “My Life In Shorts, In Las Vegas With Other Celebrities.” Quillin shares her adventures with pal B.B. King and Roy Horn of Siegfried & Roy. Her book speaks of many meetings with stars like Frank Sinatra, who gave her a gift of a cigarette lighter engraved with his signature, of visiting Elvis Presley’s Graceland with her husband who was Elvis’ guest at Graceland, many years ago. Stories of parties where Roy Horn helped her on stage, to have a picture made with him, just months before his tiger Montecore tried to carry him off stage, out of what he thought was danger, but instead gave him life threatening injuries that he is still recovering from. Quillin’s book of 69 short stories is an insiders look at Las Vegas that is different from any of the stories that will be told about the city. As one Amazon.com reviewer wrote: “Seldom does a person discover a book that fascinates as much as this one. Eve’s account of her life’s adventures into relationships, sex, happiness and unhappiness are portrayed in pages packed with topnotch revelations that simply do not appear in similar books.” If you love Las Vegas, love the stars who appear there, want to know things about them that you will never read in other publications, then you will love "MY LIFE IN SHORTS." ................................................................................................................................... Reviews

From reviews on Amazon.com A good book for anyone who loves Las Vegas, June 21, 2005. I just learned about this book because of the Centennial Celebration in Las Vegas I was listening to a local radio station here in Las Vegas and heard Eve Quillin talking about her book which has many stories about the entertainers who work here in Las Vegas. She has talked about her experiences writing about these celebrities and getting to know them, with many close friendships coming from her writing about them. I really enjoyed seeing another side of these celebrities, so this was a good book and a good read for me. Anyone who likes to read about the stars will love this book. THere are several other reviews on amazon as well as other Internet bookstores.
