When five-year-old Shanari woke up one morning, she had no idea she'd never see her mother again. Now it's nearly thirty years later and Shanari keeps telling herself she's not crazy for trying to forget her past. Her career as a producer leads her to Kaila, who has the close-knit family Shanari's always wished for, and the two quickly share a bond that ties them together for life. But Shanari is still convinced that she can escape her problems, and becomes tangled in a web of deceit and denial. Her husband, Jayson notices the toll it's taking on her and now their marriage is in jeopardy. To top it off, Shanari suddenly comes face-to-face with the mother that walked out on her. This bombshell forces Shanari and Kaila to find out the truth about their lives that explains their instant connection. Numerous dilemmas arise in the wake of the new revelation. Shanari & Kaila find themselves on a rocky path of pain, forgiveness and rediscovery. Can they both face their pasts and accept their futures before it's too late?
