HELL-th SCARE deals with the "Jerry Springer"¯ like reality of healthcare.
Fringe lunatic nurses, cheating co-workers, incompetent doctors, and management who act like mob bosses. The grim truth of dying patients with no quality of life left, whose "Living Wills" have been hijacked and nullified by relatives for purely selfish, greedy, or guilt driven reasons. Micro-managed policies that actually put patients at risk and the abuse found in nursing home- of staff members.
HELL-th SCARE presents a frank picture of what really takes place behind the
scenes in the healthcare profession without "sugar coated"self-righteousness.
Supervisors from hell, impaired co-workers ( RNs, BSNs, MSN, LPNs, CNAs, etc.),
impostors masquerading as registered nurses, along with dangerous nurses who nearly kill their patients but are not fired due to hospital politics &/or policies.
About The Author
I've been a registered nurse for over 16 years. I've worked in a variety of
healthcare facilities, more so than many of my co-workers, from nursing homes to just
about every floor a hospital has to offer. Each time I changed jobs I sought to advance my knowledge by moving up to the next level of skill and competence. This forward and upward motion has given me a unique opportunity to experience a wide range of patient care, and has given me great insight into the healthcare industry. I am currently working in a critical care unit. Unfortunately, many of these patients will never go home, (not alive that is). Despite the nature of their bleak prognosis, I cherish the fact that my inner strength gives me the power to provide these poor souls with the care they deserve in a free society.'- Marilyn Ivy Zerbey
Reviews
Amid the current health care debate, it’s important to listen to opinions
from those in the thick of it. “Hell-th Scare: A Stark Look at Healthcare
In Nursing Homes and Hospitals” tells the story of Marilyn Ivy Zerbey,
as she shares her tale of working as a registered nurse for a decade and a
half, and pulls no punches about her criticisms of the profession with
particular regard to the elderly and late life care. “Hell-th Scare” is an
intriguing and worthwhile read, highly recommended.
